In the past, asbestos-containing materials were incorporated into many building and insulating compounds. Worker exposure to these deteriorating components is very dangerous. The present legislation is very clear on employers’ responsibilities to workers and the public.

Asbestos-related diseases are caused by asbestos fibers that are inhaled and settle in the lungs. Once embedded in the lung tissue, fibers remain in the body for extended periods of time.
