The MG Scotland Asbestos Awareness course will ensure tradespeople are fully aware of the potential dangers of asbestos exposure and that managers are aware of their roles and responsibilities in overseeing work with asbestos in their buildings.
According to HSE statistics, 20 tradesmen die every week from the ‘hidden killer’ asbestos. The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 prevents anyone from removing Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) unless they have received the correct training.

Course Content

We deliver construction plant operator training, accredited by CPCS or NPORS, from our fully-equipped training centre in Bathgate using equipment from some of the industry’s leading manufacturers such as Volvo, Terex, Manitou and Hyundai.
Our head office and admin centre is based in Bargeddie, Glasgow where candidates can attend to sit their computer-based CITB ConstructionSkills Health, Safety and Environment Test (required for applying for a CSCS/CPCS card). Both our training centre and head office are ideally located between Glasgow and Edinburgh and are easily accessible from across Scotland and the South.
MG Scotland offer further training in the areas of Driving Skills (4×4 off road vehicles, all-terrain vehicles – ATVs – and Search & Rescue), Groundcare (ride-on mowers, hedge trimmers and pesticides) and Forestry and Arboriculture (chainsaw maintenance, tree felling, pruning and thinning), accredited by NPORS.
Short duration in-house courses are also available, such as abrasive wheels, asbestos awareness, manual handling and safety harness training, ideal for groups looking to enhance their knowledge and understanding of key health & safety topics.
