This course is designed for any worker, supervisor or employer who may be exposed to asbestos containing materials. The course informs participants how to identify potential asbestos containing material, the health risks associated with exposure, and how to take the necessary precautions when working around asbestos.
The course will cover specific strategies in accordance with O Reg 490/09 - Designated Substances and O.Reg. 278/05 – Designated Substance – Asbestos on Construction Projects and in Buildings and Repair Operations to ensure that workers have the knowledge of Asbestos and its risks.

MidSouthWest offers a large selection of open training classes - both online and in person at locations across Ontario.
All of our classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable trainers who have been trained to deliver courses approved by Ontario's Chief Prevention Officer, including Joint Health and Safety Committee Part I, Part II and Refresher training.
Students receive a book with theory and guidelines for competent operation of a Elevated Work Platform. Scissor Lifts and Aerial Boom Lifts are covered. Students will learn the importance of performing a pre-start inspection Identify problems affecting the safe operation of the AWP.
At the end of this interactive course, the end-user should be familiar with the basic concepts, hazards, hazard control processes and safe work procedures associated with anhydrous ammonia
Under the Occupational Health & Safety Act, employers are required to ensure that workers have been trained and are aware of any hazard in the workplace.
During this training, employees will learn how to properly evaluate a load in order to lift it and move it safely. They will study how to calculate angles and the different attaching techniques according to their number.
The course provides participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to recognize potential hazards, perform circle checks, monitor vehicle performance and carry out the safe operation of various lift trucks.
