Since November 2006, the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 state that it is a duty of employers to provide appropriate training for all workers that may be exposed to asbestos, including those that supervise anyone likely to be exposed to asbestos.
It is vital that anyone involved in alterations to buildings constructed before 2000 received the appropriate asbestos awareness training. Even small drilling and sanding jobs can result in asbestos being released.
This will ensure that the correct precautions can be taken, reducing the risk of exposure whilst also meeting the legal obligations of protecting yourself and your workforce.
