Greencap's Asbestos Awareness course is suitable for learners who require being able to identify asbestos in a workplace setting. The aim of this course is to equip learners with the knowledge and awareness of the hazards and health effects of asbestos.
Designed for:
People who would like access to Greencap’s experienced trainers and are able to participate and ask questions. The course is designed to equip managers, workers, and occupants with necessary knowledge to reduce exposure to asbestos.
It is a non-accredited course designed for tradies, maintenance workers, property managers or anyone at risk of encountering asbestos, or who may need to work with small amounts of asbestos.
If you or your employees work at commercial or residential sites (particularly constructed prior to 2000) where asbestos is likely to be present, this course will assist you in identifying materials likely to contain asbestos, and teach you the safety requirements for working with asbestos
Pre-requisites:
Ability to speak and read English to a sufficient standard to complete the course. A computer, microphone, and speakers. We recommend Google Chrome and a minimum of ADSL 2.

How to avoid unexpected finds
How to work safely with asbestos
Personal protective equipment and its use
Waste, packaging, and handling
Working with less than 10 square metres of asbestos.

In order to ensure that all participants have adequate access to the trainer, and for effective discussion, the training is capped at 15 people.
Assessment:
There is no written assessment. Attendees will be encouraged to participate in the training sharing their experiences with asbestos and ask questions
A certificate will be issued following successful completion of the course.
