Asbestos Awareness Training

This training course is designed for companies and individuals who may come into contact with asbestos in construction or demolition during their work. This course gives you the knowledge and information required to take the necessary precautions when asbestos is found.

It also enables you to identify possible locations where asbestos could be found. Employers have a responsibility to ensure their workers are able to identify where asbestos could be, and how to reduce the risk of exposure if any is found.

They also are required to provide employees with the necessary personal protection equipment. With this is mind, the content of this course will take a look at:

• How to identify the various different forms of asbestos.

• The history of asbestos. Including why it was originally used, and what it was used for.

• What the associated health risks are from exposure to asbestos.

• Identifying the possible locations where asbestos could be.

• The asbestos surveys used and the implications of these surveys.

• Personal protective equipment needed to minimise any potential risks.
