Safety Matters was founded in 2008 by Jennifer Richards. Jennifer began her career in the construction industry in 1987 as a Carpenter’s Apprentice and became a Journey Level Carpenter in 1992. After 12 years working as a Carpenter, she transitioned to Construction Safety working as Safety Director for a large general contractor in the area.

In 2017, Safety Matters Training Institute opened in South Seattle. The Institute offers open enrollment courses which gives companies the opportunity to register a single worker or a group of workers. We also offer customized coursed, if a client has preferred dates/times, we will do our best to accommodate their scheduling needs.
