Overview:
This course will examine the various types of asbestos and the requirements for handling them in different locations. It'll explore both the common and unusual uses of this material over the last two centuries and where you may find it.
The course will consider the regulations in so far as they affect surveyors, designers, builders, building users and owners. It'll consider the legal duties placed on all persons who have responsibility for anyone working on, in or designing buildings, along with those refurbishing or maintaining them. It'll also guide delegates as to the methods of assessing the severity of possible exposure of themselves or others.
On this short course you'll:
be able to understand the different types of Asbestos and its uses
be aware of its probable locations
understand the effects of exposure asbestos and how this may occur
understand the various duties placed on persons who manage buildings in respect of asbestos
be cognisant with the methods for judging the severity of possible exposure to asbestos fibre
