Course Content:

Our working with non-licensed Asbestos Training covers the following topics:
• Introduction to asbestos
• Legislation and codes of practice
• Selection, care and use of PPE and RPE
• Prevention and reduction of exposure of employees to asbestos fibres
• Asbestos types and uses
• Control limits and air monitoring
• Emergency procedures
• Hygiene and decontamination procedures
• Health effects of asbestos exposure
• Safe working practices
• Waste handling and disposal
• Other workplace hazards

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 prevents anyone from removing Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) unless they have received the correct training, which details how such work should be undertaken. PRS have prepared a customised course that enables people to remove non-licensable ACM’s.

It is designed as an extension to our Asbestos Awareness Training which is a mandatory requirement for anyone likely to be exposed to Asbestos. The good news is that the training is less expensive than alternative providers and is tailored to the exact requirements of your workforce.

This is particularly useful for people involved in Housing Maintenance, Refurbishments & Demolitions. Instead of having to sub-contract asbestos REMOVAL work to specialist asbestos removal companies, you will be able to undertake certain removal jobs in-house.
