Assertiveness training for employees at your workplace can help everyone speak up clearly yet calmly.
About this bitesize training course
Assertiveness training for employees at your workplace can help everyone speak up clearly yet calmly.
To collaborate effectively, staff needs to fearlessly raise difficulties, ask for clarity and set boundaries, juggling competing priorities and finding solutions together.
When your employees don’t speak up, issues go undiscovered, problems are left unresolved, and resentments start to simmer. Too often, this can then boil over into aggressive communication, full of pent-up frustration and delivered unhelpfully.
Our assertive communication training session is designed to encourage early, direct expression of emerging concerns, drawing on a number of easy-to-apply frameworks that allow attendees to dial their style up and down as needed.
Participants in our bitesize Assertiveness in communication training course will learn to:
Fully understand their audience to provide context for communication
Use the most appropriate communication style to secure commitment
Express themselves assertively
Utilise active listening skills to ensure they understand what the speaker is really saying
Position their own communication for maximum impact
Use their knowledge of body language to read subtexts and gain a more accurate impression of what the speaker is feeling
What is BiteSize Learning?
BiteSize Learning is an outstanding training provider based in the UK, delivering live training for organisations at their workplaces and online.
Founded in 2005 by Paul Hodder, Rob Conolly and Shirine Vincent, we specialise in designing & delivering focused, actionable training courses that help people work together better in just two hours. Since then, we’ve trained over 72,000 people the BiteSize way.
Our core training areas are in management, personal effectiveness, communication, wellbeing, diversity & inclusion, effective remote & hybrid working and consultative sales.
Beyond our signature library of training courses, we design bespoke training sessions and programmes for organisations committed to developing talent.
We also offer valuable coaching services, either 1:1 or for small groups, for organisations where key contributors seek to overcome a thorny challenge or seize a new opportunity with the help of a curious and thoughtful collaborator.
The core of BiteSize Learning is a compact, remote-first team working from across the UK, while our training courses are delivered by a multi-talented network of expert associates. It’s a model that allows us to call upon the skill of practicing industry profesionals with decades of combined experience.
In 2020, we embraced the new world of work by offering our training as live, online experiences delivered through Zoom or other virtual collaboration platforms.
We now deliver roughly one-third of our training in person, while the rest remains virtual, and we’re pleased to note that participants attending our training online review their experience just as warmly.
•Understand the meaning of aggressive, assertive and passive behaviour • Learn a range of assertiveness techniques • Know how to use assertiveness to help a situation. This course is delivered in Partnership with Mind Aberystwyth.
The assertiveness training course can be held at your premises or at an agreed offsite location. The course delves in to how delegates can understand different behavioural styles and make informed choices about how they respond in different circumstances.
The course will consider aspects such as personal brand, self esteem, values, responses to potential or actual conflict and situational self confidence.
In this course, you will discover some techniques that can dramatically change how you feel about yourself, and how you approach the world to get the things that you want.
This course is suitable for anybody who finds it difficult to express what they feel or what they want in a suitable way. This can be useful in work situations, relationships, making complaints asking for what you want, hearing what others want.
