Sylvia Barrett has worked as a trainer in Edinburgh, Glasgow and around Scotland for over 20 years.
She was previously the Training and Development Manager for the largest Housing Association in Scotland.
Sylvia holds an Honours Degree in Psychology from Edinburgh University, she is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
At present she is also an Associate Lecturer with the Open University teaching The Managing Care course which is recognised by The Scottish Social Services Council for managers of residential care.
Sylvia won the Innovations in Personnel award presented by the Society of Directors of Personnel in Scotland and the Chartered Institute of Housing training for the millennium award.
Sylvia’s main areas of work are supporting workers who are employees in the care and supported housing sector, with a particular interest in care of older people.
Her style is relaxed, humorous and informative. She uses her wit, humour and intelligence to impart knowledge and skills in a stress free environment.
