The workshop was aimed to provide exposure to participants on the issue of terrorism involving civil aviation and the preventive measures taken by the malaysian government to prevent it. In addition, the workshop also provided information and fostered good cooperation between public and private sector (public-private partnerships) on the aspect of public aviation safety as well as enhancing participants’ knowledge in dealing with terrorism issues.
The 3 components of the workshop were; classroom learning, a site visit to kota kinabalu international airport and tabletop exercises (ttx). The speakers for this workshop were invited from local agencies such as the royal malaysian police (rmp), civil aviation authority malaysia (caam), malaysian immigration department (jim), malaysia airport sdn bhd, malaysia airlines and air asia.
Searcct conducted the “aviation security workshop (basic) series 1/2020” on 22-24 september 2020. This in-house programme is one out of the two series held every year.
This workshop was attended by participants from various ministries and organisations such as the ministry of foreign affairs (mofa), ministry of transport malaysia (mot), national security council (nsc), royal malaysian police (rmp), malaysian immigration department (jim), civil aviation authority malaysia (caam), eastern sabah security command (esscom), attorney general’s chambers, kota kinabalu international airport, pos malaysia international berhad, pos aviation sdn bhd and mas wings sdn bhd
