B.A. (Economics)

B.A. Economics/ B.A. Economics (Hons./ By Research) is an undergraduate degree program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles of economics, including microeconomics and macroeconomics. The program typically takes three to four years to complete and combines theoretical and practical approaches to economics. As per the New Education Policy, one complete year of the program is dedicated to core research work.

The program generally begins with an introduction to microeconomics, which covers topics such as supply and demand, market structures, and consumer behaviour. Students then move on to macroeconomics, which covers topics such as national income, inflation, and monetary policy.

In addition to core economics courses, students in a B.A. economics program may take courses in related areas such as mathematics, statistics, political science, and business. This interdisciplinary approach helps students to develop a broad understanding of the economic, social, and political factors that influence economic decision-making.
