B.Sc Nursing

In Coimbatore, the City famous for its Hospitality and Culture, P.Perichi Gounder Memorial Education and Charitable Trust (PPG Trust), a renowned, benevolent, Charitable, educational trust was established in the year 1992 by Dr.L.P.Thangavelu, M.S., a leading laparoscopic surgeon . It is an institution par excellence rendering yeomen service catering to the needs of budding youth and under-privileged.

The founder-chairman Dr.L.P.Thangavelu being the visionary and erudite educationist has encrypted in the DNA of the institution the poise to evolve into a paragon of perfection and excellence. With the able support of his wife Mrs.Shanthi Thangavelu as the Trustee the institutions under the banner of PPG are making strides in achieving and accumulating accolades and laurels.

The trust has established and been nurturing various educational institutions for the last 10 years in Coimbatore - College of Nursing, School of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy, College of Education, Teacher Training Institute, Institute of Technology and Business School and offers B.Sc. & M.Sc. Nursing, BPT & MPT, B.Ed., & M.Ed., Diploma in Nursing, Diploma in Teacher Education, BE & MBA.

PPG College of Nursing was established in the year 1998 and has now developed into a reputed and renowned institution of higher education. Dr.L.P.Thangavelu is the founder chairman, Smt.Shanthi Thangavelu is the founder correspondent and Mr. Akshay Thangavel is the trustee of the institution.

PPG College of Nursing is affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai. It is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), and the Tamilnadu Nurses & Midwives Council (TNNMC). Quality enhancement is an inherent aspect of the institution as evidenced by the ISO 9001:2008 certification.

PPG College of Nursing is situated on a beautiful and serene campus. Over a period of nearly 30 years, it has grown into a full-fledged post graduate-research institution with well-equipped laboratories, excellent library and a well-maintained playground. The college offers Diploma, UG and PG degrees in Nursing.

Initially Diploma and B.Sc. Nursing programme was formulated in 1998 to train young women as professional nurses for meeting the health needs of the country. In 2004 the University approved the initiation of two years Master of Nursing programme. In 2010 the two year Post Basic B.Sc in Nursing was started. The institution is awaiting approval from the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University to start the Doctoral programme in Nursing.
