Flexible and varied, this course will thoroughly prepare you to meet the challenges of working in today's financial and business sectors.

 

As part of your course you’ll:

  • Study a variety of topics in your modules to develop your employability prospects alongside your technical expertise
  • Learn from staff with substantial professional experience through tutorials, seminars, lectures and group project work
  • Benefit from a mix of approaches to teaching and assessment, including the use of industry-standard technology to make sure you become a work-ready graduate

 

If you take a paid work placement in your third year, you’ll develop and enhance your employability skills. 

We will encourage you to enhance your entrepreneurial skills through active participation in a range of national student competitions such as the IBM University Business Challenge.

Our guest lecture series will help support your development. Past speakers have included Will Holman, Deputy Agent for the Bank of England in Yorkshire and the Humber and Angela Knight, chair of the Office of Tax Simplification.

Teaching & Learning:

Independent study is a crucial part of learning at university and you will be required to undertake many hours of self-directed research and reading, and preparation and writing of assessments. 

Your course is delivered through a number of modules, which will help you to plan your time and establish a study routine. Outside of your lectures, workshops and tutorials, a range of support is available to assist with your independent study.
