Bachelor of aircraft engineering technology (hons.) in mechanical is a four (4) years programme that focus on hands-on aircraft maintenance fundamentals. This programme is different in nature from traditional engineering programmes, that includes mechanical and aeronautical engineering as offered by other universities which emphasize heavily on the design aspects of engineering.

This programme designed to meet the needs and interest of students who want to excel and develop a career as a knowledgeable and competent aircraft maintenance engineer. However, the elements of aircraft design which are more relevant to maintenance activities such as advanced material technologies, durabilities and repairs are included in order to increase the student readiness to face the demand of highly sophisticated aircraft.

This comprehensive programme will prepare the graduates to be readily absorbed by the aviation industry such as airlines, maintenance and repair organization. The aspects of engineering management such as the quality assurance, Reliability and logistics are also part of the syllabus, therefore improve the student awareness on cost efficiency, safety standards, efficient planning, good decision making etc. The consolidation of aviation maintenance and relevant traditional engineering disciplines will provide an enjoyable learning experience closely related the industry needs.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

  • PEO 1 UniKL graduate who are knowledgeable, competent and innovative which will contribute towards the human capital in aircraft maintenance engineering technology related industry
  • PEO 2 UniKL graduate who have effective leadership and team work skills as well as verbal, non-verbal and interpersonal communication skills to support their role in industry
