The Bachelor of Arts in Economics introduces students to modern economics within the context of a broad liberal arts curriculum. The degree connects economics with other humanities and social science disciplines, and it provides an even broader liberal arts education than the BS in Economics. With 56 credits of free electives, it offers students the flexibility to add another major or minor and design a program in line with their interests.

Drexel’s School of Economics provides students with access to a wide variety of courses, a vast array of experiential learning opportunities, and the career resources needed to ensure they’re on the right path to achieving their career goals.

As a field of study, economics is a framework for understanding the world, and our students graduate with the tools to adapt to the changing needs of organizations and society. Furthermore, our students have some of the highest starting salaries of any Drexel undergraduates.

Drexel Co-op

  • Through the Drexel Co-op program, economics majors balance six months of classroom learning with six months of full-time employment through University-approved employers. With plans of study that allow for up to three co-ops, students gain as much as 18 months of practical, hands-on experience in the workplace and the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in real-world settings — all before graduation.
