Course Details

This programme will provide you with a solid grounding in the design, construction, and management of civil engineering works and equip you with the technical knowledge, communication skills, and ability to operate as a civil engineer within the construction industry. Graduates will not only be multi-talented but also versatile in nature.

Civil engineering is a branch of knowledge that deals with the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of structures and infrastructures for the benefit of mankind. Civil engineering is one of the oldest engineering disciplines and, therefore, one of the most popular.

Is this programme for me?

  • If you are a determined person, energetic, ambitious and willing to take challenges, then engineering is for you.
  • If you like to create, innovate and improve, then engineering is definitely a right choice for you.
  • If you like to create wealth, contribute to society and make life better, then engineering is the right profession for you.

What will I learn?

  • You will learn very interesting things about what you always see around you. For example, you will study the characteristics of concrete, soil, water, rainfall, traffic, environment, etc.
  • Then you will get to explore the design process either manually or using software tools. Lastly, you will explore how to design a project from the start until its completion.

What should I expect?

  • Civil Engineering is a rewarding and challenging profession which aims at building and maintaining the physical infrastructure of our society for the benefit of humanity. The majority of the infrastructure that surrounds us is the work of a civil engineer. IUKL students are able to develop the technical knowledge, communication skills, and ability to operate as a future civil engineer.

What will I do?

  • Civil engineers design and build bridges, roads, railways, and tunnels. They design and build tall structures and large buildings such as multi-storey car parks, train stations, ports and stadiums. Once completed, civil engineers are involved in the operation and maintenance of these structures.
