The Bachelor of Commerce in Economics NQF7 is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to understand and address complex economic issues in today’s globalised economy.  Students will be able to critically analyse economic trends, evaluate public policies, and understand the forces driving financial markets.

Students will further learn to navigate and respond to emerging economic, social, and political challenges, adapting their skills to diverse business and economic environments. The curriculum emphasises sustainable decision-making, the importance of ethical and accountable practices, and a thorough understanding of economic principles as they apply to both private and public sectors.

The requirements for the Bachelor of Commerce are as follows:

  • A national senior certificate with minimum Bachelor's Degree admission
  • A relevant NQF4 qualification OR equivalent ('A' or 'O' level certificates) OR
  • The successful completion Of a minimum NQF 4 (ICB, CIMA or ACCA qualification) OR
  • The equivalent combination Of the above entrance requirements will be considered on an individual basis OR 
  • The successful completion of a relevant Higher Certificate qualification OR

Recognition of Prior Learning:

  • Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements but have appropriate work experience can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) as an alternative admission to the course. These admissions are based on the candidate's prior studies, work and management experience.
