Course Details

The bachelor of communication (bcomm) is designed to produce graduates with comprehensive knowledge that informs, moves, creates and shapes the world of communication. Students will be exposed to a broad-based learning experience encompassing nearly all major aspects of communication such as journalism, advertising, broadcasting, corporate communication and public relations. 

The programme will also develop learners’ ability to apply communication techniques critically and objectively in real life situations.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

  • PEO1: To produce knowledgable and competent graduates with comprehensive knowledge and skills in communication and other relevant disciplines which can be applied in communication and social environment.
  • PEO2: To produce competent graduates who are able to respond/solve communication and social issues innovatively, creatively and ethically through sustainable approach.
  • PEO3: To produce graduates who are capable to communicate effectively and critically, and demonstrate good leadership as well as teamwork in organisation and society.
  • PEO4: To produce graduates with diverse career opportunities and the ability to adapt to the dynamic changes in the social and communication environment as well as to pursue lifelong learning.

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO)

  • PLO1: Acquire knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and standards of communication and other relevant disciplines for the purpose of academic or work.
  • PLO2: Apply practical and theoretical understanding in planning, organising, leading and controlling for the purposes of managing functions and processes of communication in organisation or society.  
  • PLO3: Adapt different roles required in society and contribute positively to the community and relevant stakeholders. 
  • PLO4: Demonstrate ethical and moral values as well as professionalism in daily practice to fulfil their professional and social responsibilities. 
  • PLO5: Perform related roles individually or in teams, able to lead, communicate effectively and be good team players. 
  • PLO6: Think critically and suggest possible solutions using the acquired knowledge and skills in solving problems related to issues within the social and communication environment. (
  • PLO7: Recognise the need to engage in life-long learning for continuous self-development and professional development. (
  • PLO8: Enhance managerial and entrepreneurship skills in striving to accomplish the highest achievement.
