Combining creativity and technology, this bachelor’s degree program offers a wide variety of interactive media and graphic design courses to teach students critical thinking, how to use text, motion graphics, video, and animation to visually communicate ideas across a variety of mediums.
Through the fundamentals of color theory, drawing, digital media, storyboarding, branding, package design, typography, and design research, our students learn how to create cutting-edge, interactive content to set them up for success in their future interactive media or graphic design job.
Program Description
The Interactive Media & Graphic Design program prepares graphic design graduates for professions in the field of visual communications and digital media design through the critical and creative exploration of emerging forms of visual and graphic arts, typographies, interaction design, virtual environments, and information spaces.

To be awarded a minor, at least 12 units of coursework must be completely distinct and separate from the coursework in the major, and coursework for the minor must include a minimum of 6 upper-division units (University Policy S16-4).
You’ll not only master design skills, but also hone a personal voice that requires critical thinking, social awareness, and the ability to communicate across an array of platforms.Â
The Graphic Design program provides a balance of theory and practice in a rigorous design curriculum, enhanced by general education coursework in the humanities and the physical and social sciences.
