Additionally, the degree emphasises professional development through project management studies and real-world experience gained via professional placements, ensuring graduates are well-equipped to become skilled in the important Cyber Security sector.

  • ICMS have an impressive network of Industry Partners in technology and business. This means that our ICMS graduates gain more than just a degree during their time studying with us.
  • Built into the Bachelor of Information Technology (Cyber Security) qualification are two Work Integrated Learning (WIL) subjects, completed over two trimesters, in which students undertake a Professional Placement. This is also sometimes called an ‘Internship’.
  • In the study period prior to the first WIL subject, our team of consultants work to secure a suitable placement that is the best fit for our student’s unique skills, interests and professional goals.
  • That means that ICMS graduates have work experience on their CV; a network of contacts; and the confidence to jump straight into their chosen career.

Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Information Technology (Cyber Security) graduates will able to:

  • Apply in-depth knowledge and capabilities in the field of cyber security to design and implement secure IT solutions by exercising industry standards, best practices, tools, and techniques. 
  • Work collaboratively and productively with others from diverse backgrounds in a range of cyber security contexts exhibiting adaptability and autonomy and employing emotional and social intelligence. 
  • Critically analyse business needs, identify and evaluate requirements for secure solution design, and apply specialist knowledge to propose contemporary and innovative cyber security solutions for real-world problems.
