Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours

At ukm, mechanical engineering structure core areas include mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, electricity, control and instrumentations. In addition to these core principles, mechanical engineers use tools such as computer-aided design (cad), computer-aided manufacturing (cam), product lifecycle management and engineering economic techniques. 

Mechanical engineering is an engineering branch that combines engineering physics and mathematics principles with materials science to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering branches.

The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering has taken all the initiatives to ensure that quality improvement activities are continuously identified by working closely with students and stakeholders. These stakeholders are Ministry of Education, leading industrial companies such as Petronas and Perodua, and non-governmental organisation such as Malaysia Automotive, Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii), SAE International and etc. Inputs from students and stakeholders have helped the department to improve course delivery, assessment mechanism and other aspects of teaching and acquisition of professional and industrial skills.

Local Students

• Applications for full time study programmes (STPM, Matriculation, STAM and Diploma/ Equivalent) must be submitted via Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education Online Application. Applications for studies in all the programmes offered are published in local newspapers between the month of January to April every year.
