Businesses today face challenges due to the rapid speed of growth of global information technologies. How can they store, manage and transfer vast amounts of data securely?  How can they build networks that are accessible yet safe?

They need specialists to design, build, maintain, support and protect computer networks. There’s a huge demand for cyber security professionals who know what action to take when things go wrong.

The Bachelor of Networking will give you these skills. You’ll learn how to build and maintain secure information and communication systems. So you can create systems fit for today and the future.

The world of hacking has changed. Hackers aren’t disgruntled teenagers in their bedrooms. Instead, they’re international organised crime networks, sometimes sponsored by foreign governments. Cybercrime is getting more sophisticated and it's a serious risk to Australian businesses. The demand for cybersecurity professionals is higher than ever.

We’re training the next generation of network experts to respond to this new threat. Do you want to be an ethical hacker? Do you have what it takes?

When you study a Bachelor of Networking - Cyber Security you’ll learn the key skills and the ethics behind them.

When you study a Bachelor of Networking - Cyber Security at MIT, it’s more than a qualification. You’re starting a new career path.

Our teachers think outside the box. We use innovative methods like the flipped classroom that keep you active and engaged. On the BNet-Cyber we take gamification to the next level. You’ll be challenged to hack into your tutor’s computer.

The course has been developed with input from the Australian Federal Police, Australian Defence Forces. Our graduates are ready to qualify for industry certificates by Microsoft and Cisco.

Completed over three years, or two if you choose to fast track your studies. You’ll be encouraged to find innovative and creative solutions to emerging networking and cyber security issues.

Industry Projects:

In the final year, students consolidate their learning through a capstone project. MIT’s School of IT & Engineering has designed these units to provide you with real-world experience, working for an industry client.

The projects are supervised by academic staff and industry supervisors, providing a fully immersive work-integrated learning (WIL) experience for students.

Each project works through system specification, analysis, design, development, implementation, testing and troubleshooting.
