This college was established in April 1993 and only started as a Nurse Training Center or better known as Pusrawi Nursing College or Pusrawi College under the administration of Pusat Rawatan Islam Sdn Bhd (PUSRAWI) or now known as Hospital Pusrawi Sdn Bhd.
The initial stage of its establishment was to provide the manpower needs at Pusrawi Hospital by only offering courses for Clinic Assistants to become Assistant Nurses.
In 1997, the college was given the opportunity to conduct a Nursing Certificate course with the approval of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to enable students to qualify as Trained Nurses registered with the Malaysian Board of Nurses (LJM) which was only given a year intake quota of 40 students at that time.
In 2003 under the Private Higher Education Institutions Act, required all Private Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTS) to be registered under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).
So, after being registered as an IPTS, this college can offer a Diploma in Nursing Science course to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) graduates. In the meantime, MAIWP which is the full owner of the college has set up Anggun Mulia Sdn Bhd to manage the college.
The development is very modest since it was registered as an IPTS, demanding a complete transformation where in 2010 with the appointment of YBhg. Datuk Haji Mahamad Zubir bin Sheikh Saad as the Executive Chairman has changed the college management scenario.
The first approach that has been done is by rebranding in March 2011 where the college is known by the new name as Pusrawi International College of Medical Sciences or Pusrawi International College of Medical Sciences with the abbreviation PICOMS.
Meanwhile, Anggun Mulia Sdn Bhd was later changed to Pusrawi International Medical Science College Sdn Bhd and in the same year with the rebranding of the college, the name PICOMS was born.
