Jobs in this new field are available in India as well as in other countries in the export houses, research and development organisations dealing with fashion design and technology for projecting a masterplan paradigm for ensuring a sustainable fashion policy.

The Global Open University, Nagaland (A State University established by the Government of Nagaland) has been legislated by the Nagaland State Legislative Assembly under The Global Open University Act 2006 (Act 3 of 2006) which received the assent of the Governor of Nagaland on 30th August 2006 and was notified vide Notification number Law/Act-10/2006 on 18th September 2006.
The provisions of The Global Open University Act 2006 were published in the Nagaland Official Gazette on 18th September 2006 for general information.
The Professional in Fashion Design is the one-year duration course. In the course, the students will learn completely about the field of Fashion Design.
The program also trains students with entrepreneurial and managerial skills that are required to run their own studio and manage brands.BSc. in Fashion Design and Garment Management comprises the practical and hands-on training that is required for a career in fashion design.

The objective of this course is to give adequate knowledge and experience of space, form , colour, texture and develop an ability to utilize ideas and present different schemes through the medium of drawings and models.
