Start a lucrative career with a bachelor’s in cybersecurity. Learn to fight 21st-century cybercrime in bridgewater state university’s bachelor’s in cybersecurity and digital forensics program.

As cybercriminals become more sophisticated, the need for highly trained cybersecurity professionals becomes increasingly important. Armed with our cybersecurity degree, you will be ready to start a lucrative and exciting career in cybersecurity. We are committed to training cybersecurity experts and diversifying the field.

Housed in our Computer Science Department, our cybersecurity major is designed in consideration of both the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) accreditation standards and CAE-CDE designation requirements. This means you will be provided with comprehensive coverage of essential knowledge, technology and skills in both cybersecurity and digital forensics areas.

We offer a threefold approach which includes:

  • Exceptional classroom learning. Our cybersecurity degree classes are taught by full-time faculty members who have experience in the cybersecurity field and can offer firsthand knowledge about fighting cybercrime.
  • State-of-the-art facilities. Learn in our new cyber range where you can train to handle real-world-based simulated cyberattacks.
  • Hands-on internship opportunities. Work alongside cybersecurity professionals as an apprentice in our Security Operations Center (SOC), which is currently being built, and monitor, detect and respond to real cyber attacks.
  • Upon graduation, you will be able to conduct yourself ethically and work toward solutions in cybersecurity and digital forensics fields by integrating broad knowledge and fundamental skills. Our cybersecurity major sets you on the path to pursue opportunities for professional development and graduate studies through life-long learning.

Cybersecurity Program Highlights

New cyber range

  • Our state-of-the-art cyber range — the most advanced of any in New England — provides cybersecurity majors with hands-on virtual experiences in simulated cyber-criminal attacks. Here, you will experience ransomware, malware and other simulated cybersecurity attacks in a controlled environment and become an expert at fighting cybercrime.

Affordability

  • We offer an unparalleled value. You will graduate with the most competitive and comprehensive skill set and experience for a fraction of the cost of other cybersecurity degree programs.

Prime location

  • Boston is the hub of New England’s tech industry — and a perfect spot for internships at some of the city’s leading companies. With so many opportunities on our doorstep, you can get a foot in the door of a future employer while gaining first-hand work experience fighting cybercrime.

Smaller classes mean more personal attention

  • Our bachelor’s in cybersecurity courses are small. With classes of fewer than 20 students, you’ll benefit from close-knit collaboration with other cybersecurity majors and personalized attention from instructors.

Learn full- or part-time

  • Whether you are working full-time and need to schedule your cybersecurity degree courses around your work and family life, or whether you want to study full-time and finish as quickly as possible, we have the right cybersecurity major options for you.

Cybersecurity Degree Program of Study

  • We have built our program around ABET accreditation, which ensures a stable and transparent pathway to learning the core material and completing the program.
  • Our program of study is complimented by our new cyber range and SOC, which make our cybersecurity major stand apart because you will gain hands-on experience leading the fight against cybercrime. The cyber range is one of the most sophisticated of its kind in the country. The SOC will provide students opportunities to work with cybersecurity professionals in providing threat monitoring, detection and response services to municipalities, non-profit organizations, companies and other government agencies.

Careers in Cybersecurity

  • When you earn your bachelor’s in cybersecurity, you are well-prepared for forensic analyst careers in law enforcement, government agencies and many different industries. As part of your education, you will work alongside cybersecurity professionals — enhancing your skills and gaining valuable career connections.
  • There are more than 20,000 unfilled, high-paying cybersecurity positions in Massachusetts alone. Nationally, there are over 755,000 open jobs in cybersecurity. Our program prepares you to enter the workforce and command near six-figure starting salaries.
