Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles, learn correct dance technique, deportment and improve all your other styles of dance.  Contemporary and Lyrical have recently increased in popularity.

These styles allow for beautiful expressive dancing incorporating release, fall and suspension of movements as well as strength and flexibility.

  • Renee began dancing at the age of two and a half at Calisthenics. From the age of 10 she began studying Ballet and Jazz competing in many competitions. Renee enjoyed performing as an orphan in the 1993 Lyric Theatre production of “Annie” and also in “Viva Las Vegas” at the Balanada Room where she portrayed “Brigitte” from “The Sound of Music”. Renee was honoured to be selected for the Victorian State Dancers in 1998 and had the opportunity to perform all over Victoria and at many State Government Functions. The Victorian State Dancers were also featured performers in the Victorian School Spectacular. In 1998 Renee was also a member of the Calisthenics Victoria State team and competed at the nationals in Queensland. In 1999, Renee travelled to Sweden as part of a Calisthenics display team that performed at the World Gymnaestrada. A move to Sydney saw Renee continue her Ballet and Jazz studies as well as begin coaching Calisthenics, Renee represented NSW as a soloist at the National competitions in Canberra and Queensland. While in Sydney Renee choreographed routines for the Sydney Dance Expo and had the opportunity to coach teams and Soloists. Renee and her family have been back in Victoria for 11 years now where Renee has been teaching Calisthenics teams and solos as well as technique and Jazz classes. Her qualifications now include Associate M.D.E.C. Level One Calisthenics and Acrobatics. 2019 will be an exciting year for Renee as she travels around Victoria presenting Dance seminars and takes on the role of Choreographer for the BLOC production of Beauty and the Beast.
