For students 6 years and older.
EDF offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Improv, Musical Theatre and Vocals.

Pointe does not begin at any specific age or level, but depends on the strength of students. It is a technique associated with Ballet that involves balance and being able to support all of your weight on the tips of fully extended feet.Â
It is the utmost in technical accomplishment for the female ballet dancer, requiring exceptional strength, mental discipline and several years of ballet training.
Once students enter grade 1 at school they proceed into 45 minute to 60 minute classes. More focus is placed on proper technique and execution. We continue to maintain age appropriate music and movement for all age levels.
Shelley Shearer School of Dance is proud to deliver the highest quality Ballet program to everyone. Every student’s year culminates in the annual performances in June at the Winnipeg Centennial Concert Hall where everyone becomes a star. We’ll see you on stage!
A candidate for pointe work is determined by ankle strength, foot alignment and overall ballet technique.
