Ballroom Dance

Cherry Dance started as the passion project of dancer and choreographer, Amanda Mc Farlane (nee Newell)  in 2009, as a way to consolidate all of her dance experience.  

Cherry Dance offers a variety of professional dance entertainment for events such as corporate year-end functions, awards evenings, company golf days and even birthday parties! We provide stunning promotional dancers for product launches such as vehicles, energy drinks,  gym-wear ranges and grand openings. With over a decade of experience, we are incredibly well connected in the industry and hire only the top professionals to produce top class performances.

For corporate events we also offer Dance Classes for Team-Building. These classes get everybody on the dance floor and mingling with each other in a relaxed and laughter-flooded environment in no time. "It was the best ice-breaker for our conference!" 

But that's not all we do!

Cherry Dance has instructors at various schools around Johannesburg where we teach our DanceFun Programme for grades 3 - 6 and DanceFit Programme for grades 7 - 12, as well as Hip hop classes and *Musical Theatre Workshops. Dancing in schools has become increasingly popular over the years and we can definitely see a wonderful culture being cultivated in all the kids we reach as we teach. We have a strong vein of Life Coaching involved in all our classes and so we strive to teach so much more than just dancing (as if just dancing wasn't enough!) 

In-school dance classes allow the learners loads of on-stage experience by performing in their school Fashion Shows, Major Productions, Music Evenings, Cultural Evenings, Open Days and Assemblies. For Major Productions we offer choreography for anything from one number to the entire show and have experience with groups both small and large.

We also offer Dance instructors for a fun-filled spin on Children's Parties and there is a 20% discount for all learners from the schools that we are already involved with (so speak to your school about getting a Cherry Dance instructor today!)

But that's still not all!

We have a boutique studio in Randpark, Johannesburg, where we teach our smaller-scale group classes. These classes include Dance Fitness, Burlesque, Barre and Latin & Ballroom. This is also where we teach many of our Wedding Couples their first dance. The space is beautiful and private. We have gorgeous wooden floors, wall-to-wall mirrors, a barre and a bar... Yip, you read that correctly! We have a small bar fridge in our stunning studio as some couples like to sip on a glass of wine or bubbly as they spend an intimate hour learning the romantic Rumba with their partner. 

Speaking of Burlesque and Bubbly... Ladies, did you know you can book one of our amazing instructors for your next Ladies Night or Hen Party?! "Say whaaaat?!" YES! We come to you with our loud speaker and hip-moving music as we set the scene for your most epic Bachelorette blast ever! You can select the style of dance you want; from Burlesque to Line Dancing, Salsa to Hip hop or Belly Dancing to Dance Fitness, we will make your evening exceptional!
