Bandmates Vocal Groups

The Bec Taylor School offers contemporary group singing classes for anyone aged 18 and above. Meeting once a week for 60 minutes, Bandmates Vocal  is a small-group learning community or choir for those who want to sing with others and develop their vocal skills in a singing group.

In Vocal Group you will receive vocal training, release endorphins and connect with other like-minded people. Bandmates vocal follows the Bandmates program with a tailored singers approach.

Unlike most choirs, Vocal Group has an equal focus on vocal training and development as it does on singing songs. You will workshop concepts of harmonising, arranging music, and work on skills like pitching, breathing, tone control and reading music.

Every session will start with warms ups and technical exercises to stretch your voice on different parameters. After that, you will work on songs, with an analytical focus on particular elements. For example, there may be a harmony-focus in a song, so the group will dive into different types of harmony, the theory behind it and how to sing them. Or you will focus on arranging skills, and how you can arrange our parts in a way that creates the biggest impact to the listener.

In terms of song choices, you will workshop songs of pop, alternative and indie repertoire in harmony. Along with a few low-pressure performances, Vocal Group will provide a creative and social outlet for those who want to develop their voice and have fun!
