Prerequisites

  • Not applicable for this course

 

Examination

  • On successful completion of this course delegates would have completed a theoretical test, and have participated in the practical content which involves all prior assessments and planning of lifts prior to the task being carried out.

  • On successful completion of this course delegates will be issued and In House Training providers certificate

 

Course Contents

  • Introduction to the current legislation HASWA, LOLER and PUWER.

  • The requirements for third party inspections and colour codes.

  • Responsibilities of the Banksman, Slinger and Crane Operators.

  • Introduction to Lifting Equipment.

  • Introduction to methods of slinging, a wide variety of loads.

  • The pre-use inspection criteria of lifting accessories.

  • The formulation of risk assessments and lifting plans.

  • Methods of communication using radio and hand signals.

  • Load weight assessment, sling angles and tensions.

  • Storage and loading methods of containers and half heights.

  • The safe execution of the lifting of a variety of loads.
