Always! Persons trained in firefighting techniques greatly reduce the risk of fatalities and property damage related to fire, in any environment.

Upon successful completion of the course, persons trained in Basic Firefighting techniques will:

• Know how to assess a fire in the workplace.
• Have an understanding of procedures for dealing with fires in the workplace.
• Know how to select the correct fire fighting equipment.
• Know how to check and inspect fire fighting equipment.
• Learn about the elements of the fire triangle.
• Learn how to go ahead with evacuations and the importance of regular evacuation exercises.
• Learn about the ‘buddy system.’
• Know how to approach and fight a fire in a safe and effective way.
