Basic First Aid Training Course

This is a basic first aid course delivered over 3 hours.  It covers a similar syllabus to the 1 day/6 hour Emergency First Aid at Work course but without as much details and with only brief practical sessions. It is not considered sufficient for most UK workplaces but it may be ideal for giving basic skills to a larger number of staff in your workplace.

On completion of training successful candidates will be able to:

• Understand the role of the first aider including reference to:
• The importance of preventing cross infection
• The need for recording incidents and actions
• Use of available equipment
• Access the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly, and effectively in an emergency.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
• Administer CPR and AED
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is burned or scalded
