Using simple tools, we will make a classic tool tote with a wooden handle. You will learn to mark lines, hand cut your parts, trim them to square with a hand plane and cut and fit a handle. With these basic skills you can build anything from a bookcase to a raised bed garden! Materials provided.

In this workshop, students will learn the basics of kumiko, including the use of hand tools to cut the pieces and assemble the frame. Each student will work on a small project to finish and take home.

Starting with rough hewn boards, students move through all the main machines in the shop. We cover jointing, planing and spend a good amount of time on the table saw.
