As infection prevention and control is an integral part of healthcare delivery, nurses and allied health professionals have an important role to play to ensure that their own safety and those of the patients under their care are not compromised.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, learners should be able to:
Explain chain of infection, modes of transmission and vulnerable host
List components of infection control programme
Identify the roles and responsibilities of infection control committee members
Recognize the important aspects in pandemic preparedness
State the major steps in outbreak management
Outline key principles in environmental cleaning guidelines
Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Illustrate preventive measures for common infectious diseases

As infection prevention and control (IPC) is an integral part of healthcare delivery, nurses and other healthcare professionals have an important role in ensuring that IPC practices are implemented in their daily patient care activities ensuring compliance within the healthcare team.
This Technical Skills & Competencies module: Infection Control (Level 2) is designed to enable the participant to function as a member of a medical/healthcare team to provide support in the maintenance of organisation’s infection prevention and control processes.
This course aims to provide an understanding of environmental infection control measures and management means when dealing with COVID-19 in non-healthcare premises. Participants will be introduced to the principles of personal protective equipment and disinfection in the context of COVID-19.
The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
