This half day Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis course covers all of the essential first aid skills necessary to provide basic life support in an emergency situation, with a specific focus on providing assistance to someone in anaphylactic shock.
Delegates will leave with the confidence and skills to recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and effectively manage a reaction until professional help arrives, including using an adrenaline auto-injector.
What does this course cover?
Managing an unresponsive casualty (including CPR and the use of defibrillators on adults, children and babies)
Managing a responsive casualty (including monitoring the airway and the recovery position)

Course Pre-requisites and Reasonable Adjustments
Learners must be able to perform practical tasks at floor level.
We strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
If you feel changes may be needed to the course or its assessment because of a disability, please inform us as soon as possible or at least 2 weeks before the start date. In most cases this will allow us enough time to assess your requirements and implement any adjustments.
Assessments
Practical assessments are observed and recorded by the Trainer throughout the course.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will receive an Ofqual regulated Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis e-Certificate.
