About Basic Life Support Awareness

In a medical emergency, the ability to respond promptly and confidently can be the difference between life and death. Basic Life Support (BLS) awareness training equips learners with the skills needed to administer the correct care to a person in an emergency.

Candidates will learn how to perform a primary assessment of the casualty and their surroundings to deal with the situation in the best way possible.

They will learn to be aware of many different medical emergencies and deal with each one appropriately. The techniques covered in BLS training offer the victim the best chances of survival during those important first few minutes after an incident.

Course Length

Our Basic Life Support Awareness training course is 3 hours long and completed in a half-day. Our courses are structured to allow breaks for learners to eat and rest.

Certificate Validity

The Basic Life Support Awareness training certificate lasts 12 months (1 year). Before expiry, you’ll need to re-enrol to receive a new certificate.

Basic Life Support Awareness Course Outline

  • Awareness of the different types of emergency, including Shock, choking, fractures, etc.

  • Dealing with unconscious victims.

  • Administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

  • Using Automated External Defibrillators (AED).

  • When and how to put someone into the recovery position.

Basic Life Support Awareness is available to anyone interested in supporting someone when faced with cardiac arrest. It is strongly encouraged where there is an increased likelihood that cardiac arrest could occur, such as for those working in health and social care environments.
