Basic Life Support (BLS) includes the recognition of, and initial intervention or treatment given by pre-hospital or in-facility responders to a patient suffering from cardiac arrest or respiratory arrest.
The BLS curriculum truly supports the delivery of high performance, team-based professional-level resuscitation.

This program does not cover basic CPR training—it is designed to train professionals to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants. The Canadian Red Cross Basic Life Support certificate is valid for one year.
Who Can Take This Course?
This course is only offered to dental professionals attending the 2024 Current Concepts in Dentistry program.
Refund Policy
Course withdrawal must occur by October 16, 2024 for a refund minus a $35 administration fee. There will be no refund for withdrawal after October 16, 2024.

In this course, you will learn the fundamental skills of high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for victims of all ages.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is the foundational course for healthcare professionals and trained first responders who provide care to patients in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.
Winnipeg First Aid offers health care provider CPR (CPR HCP) and AED courses. This is a stand-alone CPR course in which no first aid certification is included. This course is the most advanced CPR course offered by this workplace-approved provider.
Basic Life Support (BLS) teaches participants how to respond to emergences with basic life support skills.
Students must pass a written exam and skills test in order to qualify for a BLS Provider Course completion card.
