Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR HCP Courses

Winnipeg First Aid offers health care provider CPR (CPR HCP) and AED courses. This is a stand-alone CPR course in which no first aid certification is included.

This course is the most advanced CPR course offered by this workplace-approved provider. CPR HCP is designed for candidates that are working in or planning to work in the health care industry.

Candidates will learn a variety of different CPR techniques and be able to handle a variety of different CPR scenarios. Certification in the use of automated external defibrillators (AED’s) is included in the course.

Course Content:

Candidates in this CPR HCP and AED course will learn the skills to recognize and treat adult, child, and infant victims of the following emergencies:

• Unconscious and breathing.

• Unconscious, not breathing with circulation.

• Unconscious, not breathing, and no circulation.

• Unconscious, not breathing with or without circulation using a bag-valve-mask.

• Unconscious obstructed airway.

• Conscious obstructed airway.

• Cardiac arrest requires an automated external defibrillator.

• Suffering from cardiovascular emergencies.

Workplace Approved Certification:

Candidates that successfully complete this course will receive a workplace-approved CPR HCP and AED certificate. Certification is nationally accredited throughout Canada.
