About
Background
Our parent company, Haxby Group, is a high-quality, community-based healthcare organisation, with general practice at its heart.
Serving more than 92,000 patients, Haxby Group delivers patient care from 11 GP surgeries across York, Hull and Scarborough. Education is at the heart of Haxby Group and a learning culture has always been central to our multi-professional team.
Courses
Haxby Group Training co-ordinates the development and delivery of training activities and courses based in primary care. We have developed a series of practice-based interactive courses for clinicians and support staff.
Our aim is to support practices to develop and maintain crucial skills for their staff, and assist in achieving compliance with CQC and other quality standards. Our courses are developed and delivered by staff working in general practice with current contextual knowledge and understanding, and a passion for primary care.
Consultancy
We can also offer business consultancy around general practice organisation and at-scale delivery, sharing the experience of our dedicated directors and partners.
Training Hub
As the host of the Primary Care Workforce and Training Hub in Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) we are able to provide training support for local practices. We coordinate local schemes on behalf of NHS England and the HNY Integrated Care Board (ICB), supporting with students, trainees and workforce development.
This includes aiding practices to develop supervisors and assessors, offer student placements, employ and train staff in a variety of practice roles, and access funding for training and development. We’re able to offer this support to all practices within HNY, and work closely with other local authorities and education providers as part of our training hub role.
Training in basic life support skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), choking response, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in emergency situations.
This course aims to teach candidates basic first aid skills to enable them to deal with emergency situations involving casualties tailored to their work environment.
This Basic Life Support course is designed to give you the knowledge and understanding required to react quickly and appropriately in emergency situations, increasing the safety and quality of care provided to those within the sector.
A 4 hour training programme designed to give candidates a basic knowledge of emergency resuscitation skills and instruction on how to use a portable Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively.
Our Vision and Mission have evolved over time, in collaboration with young people and underpinned by our CATCH values. We believe in the power of creativity to effect positive change and empower young people and adults to create change in their communities.
