This Basic Life Support course will give learners the skills and knowledge to act in an emergency situation providing the casualty with critical lifesaving assistance until support arrives.
DurationThis Basic Life Support course will give learners the skills and knowledge to act in an emergency situation providing the casualty with critical lifesaving assistance until support arrives.
This course also covers the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and is delivered following the protocols set by the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines.
Course Content
A range of subjects are covered including :
What is First Aid?
Action in an emergency
Primary survey
Secondary assessment
Resuscitation and AED
Disorders of respiration
Certification
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a multiple choice question paper and on completion, a years qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria.
Numbers
A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and all candidates must be a minimum of 14 years of age.
This qualification lasts for 1 year
To renew the qualification, learners will need to complete the full course again.
