This course is often required for people who work with elderly people or young children, or who are lifeguards or anyone involved with people on a regular basis who could have any sort of incident.

This course is suitable for General Practitioners, Dentists and other medical staff. It also provides a basic in-sight into first aid or those who would just like to learn resuscitation skills. The course is also ideal for those requiring an accredited qualification to demonstrate they have fulfilled HSE requirements.

This is a regulated qualification that equips candidates with the essential skills to provide basic life support in an emergency.

Basic Life Support for Adults and Children Level 2 Qualification – course aims:

This course incorporates all the necessary theory and practical skills of CPR and teaches the delegates how to recognise signs and symptoms of the casualty and priorities of treatment. Delivered to schools and education sectors in Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

It is the perfect qualification for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide basic life support for adults and children. It is also ideal for qualified first aiders who are looking to refresh their knowledge and practise the latest basic life support techniques.

BLS Training – course content:

All delegates will have a good understanding of Basic Life Support through theoretical and practical demonstration. Practical work will include CPR demonstration on mannequins. Course content also includes:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider

  • Scene safety

  • Priorities: DRSAB check and sending for help

  • Recovery position – Adult

  • Recovery position – Infant

  • Managing unconsciousness

  • Managing choking (Adult and Child)

  • Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Adults – Children

  • Accident recording and reporting procedures

  • Basic hygiene in First Aid

Basic Life Support for Adults and Children Qualification – Assessment and Certification:
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor throughout the course. On successful completion of the course delegates will receive an accredited certificate valid for 1 year.
