About this course

Our Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (CPR & AED) course meets the standards of the HSE covering the use and provision of an AED in your workplace the course provides learners with the skills to deal with a person having a cardiac arrest or heart attack, while meeting the recommendations from the Resuscitation Council.

Our courses have up to date training aids such as computerised resusci Anne’s, that can measure the effectiveness of CPR delivered to give accurate results and constructive feedback to learners.

They are packed full of practical activities and demonstrations alongside the theory to keep learners interacting and engaged. Safe Hands Training regularly run open courses across Staffordshire and the wider area that you can book yourself or employees on to, or alternatively if you prefer, we can do ‘in- house’ training at your own place of work or a suitable external location anywhere in the country.

Aims and Basic life support Course content

• Understanding of basic life support requirements

• Identify the causes and promote prevention of a cardiac arrest

• The A, B, C, D, E, approach to the patient

• Understanding the Chain of Survival and the importance of early recognition of a deteriorating patient

• Undertake skill stations for effective CPR, and safe use of an AED.

• Unconscious casualty and recovery position

• Bleeding

• Casualty simulation

• Anaphylaxis

• Adaptations for children and the drowning casualty
