DurationThe Institute is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, India for various statutory Maritime Trainings as well as enjoys the confidence of many leading shipping companies of the world for impartation of miscellaneous value addition trainings to their staff At present the Institute has two fully functional campuses one at Kolkata, i.e. in the Eastern part of India and the other at Faridabad (located within the National Capital region of Delhi) in North India.
Both the campuses are well equipped with the latest and continuously updated curriculum, training technology and pedagogy and are manned by highly qualified and experienced marine trainers. The Institute has been rated A-1 (Outstanding) by Lloyd's Register Marine and Offshore India LLP in the CIP Inspection.

The course meets the requirements laid down in Regulations Vl/6 paragraph 4 to 6 Section A-VI/6 Paragraph 6 to 8 and Table A-VI/6-2 of the STCW Convention 1978 as amended. The candidate has also met the additional criteria specified in the STCW Convention applicable to the issue of the certificate.
Pre-Sea Training Course for G.P. Ratings is offered by Marine Training Academy.The course is fully residential as per the Directorate General of Shipping norms, requiring all the trainees to reside in-house. The course will cover all aspects of the sea-faring profession (Deck and Engine).
At the end of the course a seafarer should able to follow “Safe Working Practices'',as laid out in the ships operating procedure(SOP)and as per the ISM Checklist and also company specific safety drills should comply with.
