Aims
The course will cover basic technical skills for Core Trainees working in Urology in preparation for Registrar (ST3+) practice.
Objectives
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to perform circumcision, scrotal exploration, cystoscopy and stenting. They will have a better understanding of selection of appropriate adjuncts to each procedure.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
Describe and choose the appropriate equipment and technique.
Discuss patient selection, information and preparation for each.
Describe the risks, results and complications.
Demonstrate safe and effective basic technique for the above procedures.

The Local Anaesthetic Transperineal Biopsy (LATP) module is delivered in partnership with Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, and it will equip the student with the necessary skills and techniques to undertake transperineal biopsies under local anaesthetic in men.
This is a one-day surgical simulation workshop with the use of high-fidelity animal tissue models, focusing on laparoscopic hysterectomy and mesh sacrocolpopexy. This will be the first urogynaecology simulation course in the UK using high fidelity animal tissue models.
Aim: The cadaver lab will be a training experience focused on you and your need, with a maximum of four trainees per cadaver (fresh frozen). This gives you a really focused opportunity to put into practice what you are learning during the course.
Explore the topic of urogynaecology, which is a sub speciality of gynaecology, and provides assessment, investigations and treatment for women with urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections and more.
