Course Content
As a Trainee in Beauty & Nails you may work in a salon, a client’s premises, or in your own salon. Your day-to-day tasks may include:
Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
Fulfil salon reception duties
Develop and Maintain effectiveness at work
Promote additional services or products to clients
Provide facial skin care treatment
Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes
Carry out waxing services
Provide manicure services
Provide pedicure treatments
Provide make-up services
Entry Requirements
You must:
Have a minimum of a Level 1 qualification defined as 4 GCSEs at grades D-G including Maths and English grades D-F or equivalent. However, most areas will require higher grades in Maths and English. See our Traineeship page for specific grades for each vocational area.
Attend an information session.
Careers/Progression
On completion of the Traineeship, you can progress to a Level 3 further education course or a Level 2 or 3 Apprenticeship (possibly with your work placement employer).
Over 90% of students who complete this course progress into Level 3 Beauty Therapy Massage route/Level 3 Nail Technology and specialist areas. This can lead you to Higher Education options.

With all our courses we feel it important that our students receive in-depth training, not only on their chosen subject, but with everything else that goes with it such as health & safety, anatomy and physiology.
Beauty Therapy course allows students to complete the course alongside current work and family commitments. Students will be required to attend the training centre for the practical and assessment days.
The aim of the Beauty Therapy apprenticeship is to provide learners with the skills and knowledge needed to progress into roles within the Beauty sector.
With this course it is very full on with a huge amount of content to learn. You will be expected to learn all of your theory first and pass all your modules. You will then be assessed over seperate weeks. 2 courses one week(2 days), 2 courses the next week(3 days).
This qualification will provide you with a range of technical knowledge and practical skills which will enable you to gain employment or complete further training in the Beauty Therapy industry.
