Beginners learn to sew class. An introductory project to develop basic skills on a sewing machine. This class is held once a week over three weeks, 6pm until 8.30.
This class is $150 for all three evenings, including all fabric and supplies and machine hire if needed. Please let us know if you would like to borrow one of our machines at time of booking.

Over the three evenings you will make a fully lined tote bag and a cushion cover with a zip.

We are a boutique sewing shop based in Petone, Wellington and are here to supply you with all the tools and supplies you need for sewing. Whether you are a sewist, dressmaker, designer, crafter, quilter, embroiderer or manufacturer (or something else entirely!) we are sure you will find something lovely and useful amongst our product range.
Here you will find a large range of sewing machines, machine accessories, sewing tools, threads, pattern-making supplies, haberdashery, embroidery essentials, and the necessaries for knitting and crochet. We are still the little sewing shop with a big heart - but now refurbished and buzzing with quality new products and ideas. We listened to your requests and needs and have reorganised to give more space to browse and find those exciting possibilities for your projects or answers to your sewing problems.
New products, brands and newly arrived machines for sewing, quilting embroidery, overlocking, cutting and more. We have all levels for all needs from the latest high tech computerised “dream machines” like the Stellaire and Luminaire, to machines designed with fundamental simplicity to excite beginners.
We also have a great range of industrial machines. Our full range comes with demonstrations, instructions and guarantees. We pride ourselves on future proofing your sewing and craft needs with quality and support.
The class will cater for intermediate sewers. All students will be helped, shown techniques and short cuts. Bring pattern, material & sewing kit, current sewing project, or idea to the first lesson.
If you can never find exactly the right pattern this is the course for you. It is a  practical course to give you the confidence to choose the right pattern, select the correct size and change the pattern details to the design you want.
Join Jo & Jo2 in store on Tuesdays from 5.30pm for an evening of creativity. Bring your own project and machine if required or we can find a new project to help inspire you.
Sewing is a practical must-have skill that’s useful for anyone looking to complete creative projects in Whangarei. Learn to utilise your sewing machine to its fullest potential. And no, its doesn’t need to be a BERNINA or Bernetta sewing machine to attend our sewing classes.
Have fun being creative! We will sew, knit or crochet small and larger projects, learning and practicing machine skills and crafting techniques. Budding crafters between 8 and 16 years can learn and expand their sewing skills in these classes.
