Our pottery classes are held weekly with this new term running for seven weeks (instead of our usual eight weeks due to potentially moving studios!!), covering all the skills required to bring a ball of clay to life on the potter's wheel
The term starts with a conversation for us to get to know you and your goals for the rest of the term. With a small class size of 7, we are able to personalise our approach and pay individual attention to each burgeoning potter
By the end of the term, you will be able to bring home your very own simple form creations such as cups, bowls, and vases. You will also have the opportunity to enroll in the next term before the general public, in order to further develop your skills
All materials are included in the cost, and potters are also welcome to bring in their own materials to experiment with
Firing is charged at $12 per kg weighed during pick up of work
For our up coming June cycle of classes, we have expanded our offering with many new time slots. Book now to be part of our small class of 7 where we can personalise our approach depending on each persons experience level, whether you are brand new to clay or have previously done a few terms.
Clay is such a versatile material, you can create anything you want with it. If you want to get into pottery but desire something a little more creative and inspiring than plain pottery, then this is the class for you.
The session will start with a safety briefing and chat about the process, followed by a quick demonstration of throwing a pot on the wheel. You will then get to jump on the wheel yourself and get stuck into centring clay, pulling the walls and shaping your very own ceramic pieces!
An 8 week class for beginners and those with experience. Try your hand at hand building or wheel throwing . All clay, firing and glazes
The beginners' pottery class package consists of three 2-hour classes, where you learn to throw, trim and glaze basic cylindrical pieces of pottery. These three pottery classes have to be spread over the span of 3 weeks to allow time for your pottery to dry and get fired
Slapping out slabs of clay can produce fabulous platters by hand, curls up the edges to create a rim, using bowls as molds and decorating surface treatment creates beautiful salad bowls and a couple of pinch pots with spoons for salt and pepper. No experience needed to make your food and table come
