Course overview
This short course is ideal for beginners interested in learning professional sewing and dressmaking techniques for industrial and domestic machines.
You will learn some basic pattern alteration and fitting techniques so that you can create individual and professionally finished garments.
You'll produce at least one garment and carry bag, possibly more depending on the level of complexity and your developing skills. Sewing machines and overlockers are supplied. It may be helpful to have your own machine to practice with and complete some work at home.

This course caters for students with a range of sewing abilities who wish to learn more about sewing and garment making. A practical course which includes basic, as well as more advanced sewing techniques and allows students to choose their own project.
These classes, instructed by Helena Kinnunen, are an introduction to upholstery sewing during which time students will make or recover their own cushions. It is suitable for beginner to intermediate skill level.
You will learn the fundamentals of sewing with an electric machine, sewing and alteration techniques. You will also develop an understanding of fabric types and their uses.
Bucket hats are back and simple to sew! Come and learn to sew this reversible hat. This hat is reversible, easy to sew and you get to choose from any of the fabrics in the shop. A must wardrobe accessory in our harsh Australian sun.
